This was a training op focusing on, of all people, Osama 'bogeyman' Bin Laden.
The irony is, despite all of this excellent training, NORAD still stood down on the day...oh dear, what an accident...
Well, their operators were thrown off the scent by different excercises going on during 9/11, focused on plane hijackings...at the same times...with the same targets...

And on this subject, it's important to remember the parallel drills running during the July 7 bombings too
