Considering the Trotskyites in the current Labour government, I'm surprised there hasn't been an initiative to create a civil defence force along the lines of the soon-to-be Obama youth.

But fear not, we are getting Stasi spy squads such as here and here, paid for by our own taxes. Also, why not do a little bit of compulsory volunteering? (love the Newspeak there.)

As for a little footnote about Obama and 'service' - don't you think it's ironic that after all the noise over the "first black President of the US", he is the man who presides over the reinstatement of slavery? That's what 'mandatory volunteerism' is, after all.

    Good post!

    That was a good point about Obama reinstating slavery, even though he is the "reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln".

    I would direct anyone demanding me to join the 'Bama brigades to the 13th Amendment.
