"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals"
I love irony. But this surpasses irony and hypocrisy, somewhere up there in the clouds of oxymoronic la-la land. Turns out PETA, the animal liberation group, actually kills animals on a mass scale (while it's true that they can't find homes for some, it would be easy not to kill four out of five animals they take in, methinks). They have a walk-in freezer where animal corpses are stored, until they can be taken away for cremation.
See what I mean here
I'm sorry to correct you, but the acronym is actually:
ReplyDelete"People Eating Tasty Animals".
Do they really save the carcasses for cremation, or is it BARBECUE???
;)
Thanks for this info!
You crack me up Son!
ReplyDeleteHere's a slightly more questionable one: (don't worry all, I am kidding!)
"Puppy, Euthanised, Tasted Awesome"
While I don't concern myself too much with whether or not animal produce was 'ethically sourced', as the Newspeakers say, I kind of have some sympathies for hardline animal liberation people, if only because I love a renegade.
Though not Peter Singer, since he said that post-birth abortions might be justified:

I think the truth about some 'animal rights' causes, like some 'environmental' causes, is that it's all about waging war on independent, free, productive, advanced civilisations. 'Pro-animal' sometimes equals 'anti-human'.
