This is a piece of Goebbels-like audacity.
David Shukman reports on how one of the longest cold snaps for a generation, fits in with theories of a warming planet and global climate change.
Reminder - they recently tried to hide the story declaring December the 'coldest since 1981'.
So when does an isolated incident of weather become a sign of short term shifts in climate? If this were a heatwave lasting a month or two, the pro-AGW establishment would be declaring the end of the world - unless we pay them a carbon tax. So if unusually cold temperatures persist for a whole month (as in, 'the coldest December since 1981'), surely that is a sign of short term climate variation that cannot be ignored as merely 'weather'?
The ice isn't melting too, by the way.
And the coral reefs magically grow back, in fact they may all grow back.
The snow's finally melting outside...must be global warming.
Well, I think there is something odd happening with the weather. Climate change is what it appears to be to me.
ReplyDeleteNow, I am sure that experimentation with nuclear weapons for example doesn't help the environment in any way. Maybe those are affecting the environment too.
Do you remember when we first started getting those really hot summers in the UK? Now, that was odd. Now, the snow seems to be a regular feature around this time of the year. I thought last year was cold, but this year is really freezing, even the heater is on the blink.
I remember last time it was this freezing in the UK, we were home from school for nearly a week because the heating in the school was not adequate. We were building snowmen in South London. I was 14/15 then and that was over 15 years ago.
You are of course right. It undoubtably is warmer, or has been, recently compared to the 60s and 70s. (though I would vouch that those decades were cooler than the apparently warm 20s-30s).
ReplyDeleteDefinitely we used to get more snow than we do today. Perhaps we either receive less precipitation than we did, or perhaps this is merely another effect of it being warmer than a few decades ago.
You know what I'm gonna say - yes it is climate change, the climate always changes :)
But teh question is how much is manmade, how much is solar (methinks a lot is solar), oceans, volcanoes, manmade weather modification technologies such as chemtrails or HAARP, electromagnetic changes, and ad infinitum other possible things.
I think we can agree that the proposed carbon taxes would cause an increase in co2 output, as the heavier rates levied on 1st world nations would simply cause businesses to move elsewhere to avoid the tax, to countries that don't have the same obligations to limit co2 output.
I reckon we also agree that the new methods of generating energy, backed up by nuclear, would be beneficial in many ways including but not limited to a large reduction in co2 output.
I am of the opinion that the whole co2 thing is a scam, because a) it takes focus away from what I would view as more pressing environmental issues like the death of the bees and GM; and b) because it is being used as a front for pushing modernised eugenics and coercive population reduction.
And that I believe is where we differ. :)

ReplyDeleteI just noticed your profile, by the way; when did you have a birthday?
Back in November, Son. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I want to know is, why do they always have their important GW conferences (COP15 for example) during winter, when the Gore Effect is strongest?
