Megadeth: 44 Minutes (North Hollywood Shootout)

One of the reasons I like this song is it tells the tale of the North Hollywood shootout, but also from a pro-gun perspective. The event it describes is itself an interesting incident - two drugged up, armoured bank robbers had lightly armed police pinned down for the best part of an hour with Kalashnikovs. The incident had as close as possible to a 'happy' ending as a firefight can...the only fatalities were the two robbers, although several police and bystanders were wounded.

  1. Actually they used illegally modified AK-copies, which were naturally single-shot civilian models originally:)

  2. Thanks for this detail :)

It does make it clearer where the guns were from.

As for myself, I don't believe there should be a 'civilian' model or for that matter an 'illegal' modification; no weapon should be available to the military that should not also be available to the militia, ie the citizenry, IMO.
