An Alternative History Of Slavery

15th it is. And thus

One core column of what is taught in schools as what I call Mandatory White Guilt Education, is the history of slavery. Or, to be more specific, the history of European colonialism and the enslavement of Black Africans. Slave trade. Racist white oppression. Liberation. The strive for equality. Etc.

But do you have the whole picture?

One of the joys of the web is it has consistently exposed where my government schooling is severely flawed or downright false. Only through accessing further information can you realise what a small part of the picture you had been given.

So here are the missing pieces of the puzzle that are simply not included by the school system...

- White slavery and Indentured Servitude.

- Jewish ownership of slaves, and many slave ships bringing Black slaves out of Africa. (I thought they were supposed to be history's innocent persecuted victims?)

- Black slavery in Africa going back long before colonialism.

- Even Native Americans practiced slavery!

- And of course, the monstrous elephant in the room, The Arab Slave Trade.

The Arabs had a huge slave trade and enslaved everyone from Blacks in Africa to Whites in Eastern Europe (hence the ethnic term 'Slavs', I presume). Do you think their schools teach their children how evil Arabs were in history and how they 'owe' White and Black people for this? Somehow I'm not putting money on it...

And yet, white children are taught that they are basically the sole oppressors of history, and that they, and they alone, 'owe' other racial groups for their ancestors' actions. This is what we call 'racial equality'...
