"For me, the essential question has become: how well will we preserve the critical capacities of the present expert reading brain as we move to the digital reading brain of the next generation? Will the youngest members of our species develop their capacities for the deepest forms of thought while reading or will they become a culture of very different readers – with some children so inured to a surfeit of information that they have neither the time nor the motivation to go beyond superficial decoding? In our rapid transition into a digital culture, we need to figure out how to provide a full repertoire of cognitive skills that can be used across every medium by our children and, indeed, by ourselves." - Maryanne Wolf

We must remember that the internet, while a great blessing in terms of undermining the monolithic corporate control of information, is, like all technology, a double edged sword. And when I say 'we', I mean me, mostly. Myself, I used to find reading well into "tl;dr" territory not a problem at all, whereas now I kind of have to force the issue.
Sky News, bringing you the same repeating headlies every 15 minutes, because you're too dumbed down to appreciate in depth critical reporting and Rupert Murdoch knows it.
Actually I only bring that up because I recently saw a little of Russia Today, which is available for free in Britain, and which is far more sophisticated and intelligent than what passes for 'news' on BBC or Sky. British readers should compare this for themselves if they haven't already. Obviously they have their own agenda in defending the local tyrant (as opposed to the global tyrants) Putin and such, but since he doesn't seem to be on board with the Anglo-American establishment NWO agenda, there is a lot of room for 'real news' about the West that would never be shown in any of our news media. And that's before you get to Max Keiser and the whole gang of anti-NWO figures on their programming.
Funny word that, programming. What we call that which comes from a TV. Rather fitting. I don't really like the TV even when I agree with what's on it (which is rare). Just my opinion; some people say you should watch it just to see the subliminals and the propaganda everywhere, but I usually end up arguing with it, lol. Especially the fictional 'entertainment' which is always heaving with blatant propaganda. I just knew when they actually featured a Christian character in Coronation St, they had to torpedo it somehow - and lo and behold she became a lesbian within a few months. So predictable...are you sure that there is no Communist propaganda in your beloved 'entertainment'? Hell I even got my mother to notice that last one and believe me she does not want to see any of this stuff.
