Most patients are Conspiracy Theorists - believe their doctors are in league with Big Pharma

"(NaturalNews) A new Consumer Reports survey has found that the vast majority of patients on prescription drug medications believe that drug companies have too much influence over their doctors. Roughly half of those interviewed believe that their doctors are so influenced by Big Pharma that they would deliberately write a drug prescription even if a better, safer, non-drug option was available.

Of the nearly 1,200 patients interviewed, nearly half believe that gifts from drug companies influence which drugs their doctors prescribe. And more than 80 percent believe that drug companies offer incentives to doctors to get them to write more prescriptions.

Other concerns include doctors agreeing to be paid spokespersons for drug companies, speaking at drug industry conference and being "wined and dined" by drug company executives in exchange for favors.

According to Dr. Lee Green, these concerns are largely warranted because drug companies are known to participate in this type of unethical behavior. In fact, drug companies have now begun targeting primary care physicians to promote drugs rather than academic doctors because they are easier to convince and manipulate.

The study results are indicative of an overall decline in the public's trust of doctors, which is leading many people to conduct more research on their own about treatment alternatives. But rather than be concerned about the blatant corruption in the medical and drug industries that is causing this phenomenon, some researchers seem more concerned that people might stop taking their medications as a result..."

  1. This could be true of some doctors who love money more than people, after all, these days you never know who you can trust.

However, my own doctor died recently and he never tried to convince me to take any medication I didn't like. I have been registered with him since I was a child. In fact he was always telling me to drink more water. A really nice man. I'm really missing him.

I used to work in a hospital and when I was a teenager I actually wanted to be a Pharmacist, I worked in a Pharmacy for my work experience when I was at College. Anyway, Pharmacy is boring and monotonous and I couldn't see myself doing it long-term, although it is quite a prestigious career, they earn a lot of money. Money is not the most important thing though, although having some is nice.

Medicines can cure you or kill you. They can be good for you or bad for you, especially if you are on them long term, there can be so many side effects. Diclofenac for example gives me the worst constipation. I had to take it everyday when I had a fall as the pain in my neck and back was terrible, but that medicine nearly killed me, I was knotted up, so I stopped taking it.

When my mum used to give us our medicine when we were younger, we used to hide under the table...LOL

I always look for natural remedies, although I still use prescription medications, I prefer natural remedies.

  2. True. Some really nice people on the fringes of the system. I know two Masons, one anglo-saxon and one pakistani and they are both actually very 'good citizens' and truly moral people. Blue Lodge I presume. Never asked them what they think their superiors are up to, mind you...
