Disproportionate Non-Representation

Elected General Selection Results: (see full results here)

Conservatives:
10.7 million votes (36%), 306 seats
Labour:
8.6 million votes (29%), 258 seats
Liberal Democrats:
6.8 million votes (23%), 57 seats

UK Independence Party:
900,000 votes (3%), 0 seats
British National Party:
500,000 votes (2%), 0 seats

Bear in mind for the above vote/seat ratios it ususally takes around 15000 votes to win in one constituency.

I live in a safe Labour area.

This is one of many reasons why I didn't vote. Would I vote if it was a PR system? Might do. I think sometimes the best vote you can cast is none at all, though. The evils of the world will never be cured by the political system.

So we have a hung parliament. How exciting. Who is supplying the rope?...
