Almost 80 far-Right extremists are trying to claim for whiplash injuries after a coach crash – when there were only 25 people on board the vehicle and just 57 seats.
Supporters of the English Defence League have been accused of attempted insurance fraud after dozens sought compensation for neck injuries.

The claims were lodged after the coach carrying members to a rally was in a collision in which it sustained minor damage.

Driver Christopher Cartwright said he would be amazed if any of those on board were hurt, adding: ‘There was not much more than a scratch on the back corner.’

I understand it's not unusual for the President to have the nuclear football with him; it would be unusual if they were separated, right? Tunnel for Obama near Mani Bhavan

It could give a sense of superior American organisation, or be an indicator of a deep-set persecution complex. It could also be a manifestation of Uncle Sam’s penchant for a show of strength.

The matter pertains to US president Barack Obama’s planned visit to Mani Bhavan —the Gandhi museum — on November 6, soon after he reaches Mumbai. On Monday, US secret agents visited the museum to plan Obama’s security detail.

They were accompanied by officers of Mumbai Police and civic officials of the D ward (where Mani Bhavan is located). While inspecting the route and the buildings lining up the route to the museum, the Americans detected a skyscraper near Peddar road and also found the area to be highly populated.

Since it is difficult to monitor such a congested area, they came up with a quick solution which left the Indians accompanying them amazed: A bomb-proof over-ground tunnel — to be installed by US military engineers in just an hour.

The tunnel would be a kilometre long and measure 12ft by 12ft — enough to let Obama’s cavalcade pass through. The tunnel would be centrally air-conditioned, fitted with close-circuit television cameras, and will be heavily guarded at every point, including, of course, its entry and exit.

Details about when exactly the tunnel would be made were not forthcoming. But officials said that the structure would be dismantled immediately after Obama leaves the area.

How would you react when confronted with it?

I had the oddest dream last night.

I was a prisoner, perhaps of war but I couldn't be sure, of what I recall to be Japanese people, in my own bedroom, remarkably. Now I was aware that all the prisoners were being killed, despite not actually seeing anyone else, except the one (strangely) Arab-ish guy who is telling me to eat what is in front of me.

On the desk is a white bowl containing a tiny worm-ish sort of thing, but with lots of legs like a millipede. It is yellow except its head which is blood red. Like some kind of twisted Bushtucker suicide pact, I'm supposed to eat this freaky thing knowing full well it's going to kill me. But I had to and so it's best to go out with a little bit of courage.

So I put down the bowl containing said creature and sit on my bed, best place for one to kick it I suppose. But there's a problem; I try to pick it up and I keep dropping it, it slips through my fingers. There are blood stains where it has fallen onto my bed. But I pick it up again and on the count of three, with this Arab guard counting to three as well (oddly I didn't see fit to just kick him in the shins and run away, I was resigned to the inevitable it seems) I eat it and chew it up and swallow it.

Now about this time I become a little more conscious and as I'm lying down my stomach seizes up and my mind races off on the subject of my imminent demise. I'm sorry to my family for leaving them behind. Think of all the things I never got to do! I'm going to meet God, whoever or whatever that is, and find out what the heck has been going on! I'd best keep in mind that I'm dying, so that when I go out through the head and through the ceiling like those people in NDEs do, I don't need it all to be explained to me that yes, I am dead!

The man who says he hasn't eaten or drunk for 70 years: Why are eminent doctors taking him seriously?

There are few people, however busy their lives, unable to remember the last meal that they consumed. But Prahlad Jani is one of them.

And the reason is that the last morsel of food that he says passed his lips did so in the early years of World War II.

‘I can’t recall exactly what it was,’ the 82-year-old Indian admits. ‘It was such a long time ago.’

During the 70-odd years since, Mr Jani says he has eaten not so much as a single grain of rice nor consumed a drop of water. And while such an extended gap between meals might be expected to have a fatal impact on the activities of one so deprived, this octogenarian says he’s never felt better.

‘Although I walk 100 or 200 kilometres in the jungle, I never sweat and don’t feel tired or sleepy,’ he says. ‘I can meditate for three, eight or 12 hours — or even months.’

No food? No water? Superhuman strength? One straitjacket (size zero) for Mr Jani, please.

It is, of course, more than tempting to dismiss this Hindu holy man and his claims as the stuff of absolute nonsense.

Medical science tells us that human beings rarely survive more than a week without water, and a couple of months at most without food. To even suggest otherwise is ridiculous, and also potentially dangerous.

Practitioners of extreme starvation diets can cause serious damage to their bodies, leading to death. And yet, despite all that is known, there is a growing bandwagon that says Mr Jani and his incredible claims should not be dismissed entirely out of hand.

On Thursday afternoon, he emerged from hospital in the Indian state of Gujarat, where he had spent 15 days. He was monitored around the clock and, according to the medics who oversaw him, consumed no food and no water whatsoever.

No human should be able to survive such conditions unscathed — the lack of water alone should have killed him. But Mr Jani apparently suffered absolutely no ill-effects at all.

Ukip's Nigel Farage: 'I'm lucky to be alive after plane crash'

Nigel Farage, the fomer Ukip leader, said he feels "lucky to be alive" after miraculously escaping a plane crash during an election stunt.

Mr Farage, was pulled semi-conscious from the wreckage with blood running down his swollen face after the light aircraft crashed upside down at Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield, near Brackley, Northants.

Amazingly the politician, who is contesting Speaker John Bercow’s seat in Buckingham, walked away from the crash with only minor head injuries. The pilot, Justin Adams, was more seriously hurt but his condition is not said to be life-threatening.

In a statement, Mr Farage, who is recovering in hospital, said: "We've both had a miraculous escape. We are both very lucky to be alive."

The aircraft was pulling a purple and yellow Ukip banner which allegedly got caught up in the tail fin of the aircraft when it took off just after 8am. The banner carried the slogan "Vote for your country - Vote Ukip".

Mr Farage, 46, was found still strapped into his cockpit seat, bent double and face down under the plane. He was pulled from the tangled wreckage still dressed in a pin-stripe suit, blue shirt and tie, with a Ukip rosette attached.

Mr Farage, a Ukip MEP and the party’s chief spokesman, was first taken to Horton General Hospital in Banbury, suffering from minor head injuries.

Later he was transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he is expected to remain “for a few days”, a hospital spokeswoman said.

It means that Mr Farage will be unable to attend the count in the constituency he is contesting, which is due to take place on Friday morning.

Duncan Barkes, Mr Farage’s spokesman, said: “He is not going anywhere. There is no way he will be at the count.

"He's got two broken ribs, a small chip to his spine and damage to his sternum."

Mr Farage's wife Kirsten was at his bedside after the crash but later returned to their home in Westerham, Kent, to care for the couple's two children.

Mr Adams lost his shoes in the impact of the crash and was airlifted from the scene to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, where his condition is described as “stable”.

Eyewitnesses told how the pilot and Mr Farage were in the front seats of the plane when it banked and suddenly plummeted. A worker at nearby Hinton Airfield said the crash happened seconds after take-off.

He said: “It actually came down on the airfield, I was working in the hanger when I saw everyone running down towards it.

“It is unusual for us to have a take off that early in the morning but the conditions were good and fine for flying.

“The plane itself was not broken up that much by the crash because it hadn't gone that far and luckily hadn't got too high.

“Everyone was on the scene very quickly and it's good the pilot and the passenger both seem to have escaped relatively unscathed.”

Moments before take-off, Mr Farage had joked: “I just hope the plane doesn’t blow up and crash.”

Mr Barkes added: "Of course he's shaken up, but he is mostly feeling incredibly lucky to get out of the plane.

"As soon as he came out he wanted a cigarette. You wouldn't expect anything else really.

"He's just been worried about the pilot. Yes it's May 6, but today is about people, not politics."

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an inquiry into the crash, which happened just after 8am.

The crash is also being investigated by Northamptonshire Police.

Speaking from the scene, Detective Chief Inspector Martin Kinchin said: "Looking at the wreckage behind me, I think you can make your own judgment as to how lucky they were.

"The people inside the plane were lucky to come out with not very serious injuries."

Mr Bercow, who was out campaigning on Thursday afternoon, said: “I was concerned to learn of this morning's crash. I wish Nigel Farage and his pilot a full and speedy recovery."

Prior to the crash, the single-engine Polish plane - a PZL-104 Wilga (Golden Oriole) - had circled the airfield six times as it tried unsuccessfully to hook up a 15ft UKIP banner, which was tethered to the ground.

When it engaged it at the seventh attempt, the plane circled for another five minutes before the incident unfolded.

Simon Moores, a pilot and operations director of Airads, an aerial advertising company, said he believed turbulence could have caused the accident.

He said the banner should have been attached to the plane by swooping in and picking up a towing line with a hook connected to the rear of the aircraft.

Mr Moores, who has more than 1,000 hours' experience flying with aerial banners, said: "Coming in that low to the ground, you can sometimes suffer a bit of unexpected turbulence.

"In those circumstances, it is possible to get the line snared on either the tail fin or the elevators, which is what appears to have happened in this case.

"If that happens, the weight of the banner can pull either the rudder or the elevator and pull the aircraft out of control."

- Its age (older than Earth's oldest known rocks)

- Its apparently inside-out structure (metals on the surface?)
- Its apparent ringing like a bell when struck by space probes. (reverberates for unusually long periods)

Yet, we do seem to need the Moon, on the other hand. It seems that without the Moon the tides would not exist. And the Moon is connected to female menstrual cycles, as well as many different animals' behaviour. But, why do we only ever see one side of the Moon? What is on the other side? What are the odds that the Moon is just precisely the right size to be the same proportion in the sky as the Sun?

As usual, think for yourself and question everything including this post no matter what the cost. I know it's insane. This world is insane. It would be more insane, in my opinion, to want to be called sane by this world as it is.

Daily Mail - Croatian teenager wakes up from a coma speaking fluent GERMAN

Croatian doctors are baffled after a teenage girl who fell into a mysterious coma woke up speaking fluent German.

The parents of the 13-year-old from the southern town of Knin said their daughter had only just started studying German at school and had been trying to read German books and watch German television - but had never been that good in German.

But since waking up the teenager has been unable to speak Croatian and even refused it, but communicates only in perfect German far superior to her mastery of the language she had when she was taken ill.

Split's KB Hospital director Dujomir Marasovic said they were still trying to find out what caused the mysterious coma and why the girl has apparently forgotten how to speak Croatian.

Marasovic added: 'You never know when recovering from such a trauma how the brain will react. Obviously we have some theories although at the moment we are limited in what we can say because we have to respect the privacy of the patient.'

He said the condition was so unusual that numerous doctors have examined the 13-year-old including German-speaking doctors to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.

Nurse Marika Lenovic, 28, said: 'The case has attracted a lot of interest, not just among the media but also among medical professionals.'

The girl is still being cared for at the hospital and is receiving regular visits from her family although there has reportedly been a large degree of frustration at the fact that they can no longer communicate with each other.

Hospital staff have even had to use an interpreter to translate the teenager's words to her family although apparently when they speak to her in Croatian she does understand - but she cannot respond in anything other than German.

Psychiatric expert dr Mijo Milas who has been involved in the case said: 'In earlier times this would have been referred to as a miracle, we prefer to think that there must be a logical explanation - its just that we haven't found it yet.

'There are references to cases where people who have been seriously ill and perhaps in a coma have woken up being able to speak other languages - sometimes even the Biblical languages such as that spoken in old Babylon or Egypt - at the moment though any speculation would remain just that - speculation - so it's better to continue tests until we actually know something.'

The teenager was only in the coma for 24 hours, and it's thought it may have been prompted by extremely high body temperature.

Just noticed this happening in the last week or so. Seems that, despite apparently being there, sometimes comments temporarily diasppear without trace, then reappear again!

Now it's not that I intentionally or accidentally deleted them - for one, if you delete a comment the name of who wrote it remains. Also, it would not continue to be present on the other pages as shown above.

So, explanations? I am not narcissistic enough to think a wee blogger like me is a worthy target of hackers. Maybe some kind of technical glitch?
